My name is Rochell Ku, MS, CMI, and I am the owner of Visira Design.
As a graphic designer with a background in life sciences, I partner with experts to turn complex data and concepts into narratives for nonexperts. Life science is complex: the model may appear perfect, but in real life, exceptions and individual differences are common. The challenge of expressing this complexity inspired me to develop visual communication skills. After spending nearly a decade creating digital and print visuals across multiple channels in support of various organizations and federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health, I founded Visira Design.
My science training taught me to think critically and observe, and my visual experience helps me organize information and focus on the main message. I am particularly interested in identifying patterns in data and visuals. My focus on information hierarchy and visual systems ensures the messages, from slides to full brand identity, are clear and trustworthy.
